Offers Preparation For IPMC Exam
Prior to August Monthly
SLACE Meeting
August
13, 2010 -- The St. Louis Association of Code
Enforcement (SLACE), in cooperation with the
Missouri Association of Code Enforcement (MACE)
is offering a training seminar for those
interested in taking the ICC International
Property Maintenance & Housing certification
test.
The instructor for the three-hour seminar is
SLACE Second Vice President, Art Genasci, MCP,
CFM. The class will be held prior to the regular
monthly SLACE meeting on Wednesday, August 18 at
the St. Louis County North office located at 21
Village Square, Hazelwood, MO 63042. Attendees
should bring their 2009 IMPM, IRC and Legal
Aspects books.
The cost of the seminar is only $20, and includes
morning cofee, donuts and lunch. Registration
begins at 8:00 a.m. and the seminar gets underway
at 8:30 a.m.
The August monthly SLACE meeting will be held
immediately following the seminar at 11:30 a.m.
As always, there is no cost to attend the regular
monthly meeting.

Electrical
Inspection Seminar
Coming To St. Louis In September
July
1, 2010 -- Electrical instructor Ron Raines is
coming to St. Louis in September. Many MACE
members have seen Raines at past MACE conferences
and will tell you he offers an outstanding blend
of humor, insight and information that keeps
class participants both interested and involved.
The full day seminar is set for September 14,
2010. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The
morning session will cover Residential Electric
in New Construction and the afternoon session
will feature Electrical Inspections in Existing
Residential and Commercial Structures.
The seminar location is the Maryland Heights
Government Center, located at 11911 Dorsett Road,
Maryland Heights, MO 63043.
The seminar is being offered by the St. Louis
Association of Code Enforcement (SLACE) and the
Missouri Association of Code Enforcement (MACE).

Honors Retirees Stevens, Milatovic
March 17, 2010 -- The St. Louis Association of
Code Enforcement honored two recent retirees at
the March 17 meeting in Florissant.
Ken Stevens, who retired from the City of
Florissant, was present a plaque in recognition
of his service at the March 17 meeting. Pat
Milatovice, who retired from the City of St.
Charles, was presented a plaque at the February
SLACE meeting. Members enjoyed a cake, decorated
with the names of both retirees, at the March
meeting.

Caldwell Recognized For Service
February 17, 2010 -- SLACE members were treated
to an informative presentation about recognizing
signs of a potential meth lab from
members of the St. Charles County Regional Drug
Task Force at the monthly meeting held February
17 at Hazelwood's Civic Center East.
Two outgoing officers were recognized for their
service at the meeting. Mary Caldwell, who
completed her tenure as Treasurer in December,
received a gift card and plaque of appreciation
for her years of service to SLACE. The
presentation was made by First Vice President Pat
Milatovic.
Milatovic, who is retiring from the St. Charles
Police Department and thus vacating the SLACE
board, received a gift card and plaque of
appreciation from President John Benisch. A
special election was held to fill Milatovic's
unexpired term. Jim Fossell ran unopposed, and
was voted in by acclamation. 
Next month's meeting will be held March 17 in the
Council Chambers of Florissant City Hall, located
at 955 Rue St. Francois, Florissant, MO 63031.
