Meeting The Challenges
Code Enforcement professionals in the Kansas City metropolitan area face more challenges today than ever before. The Heartland Association of Code Enforcement (HACE) provides tools to help meet those challenges.

Purpose
HACE was established to promote professionalism and provide continuing education in Code Enforcement through training and the exchange of ideas, information and technology.

Focus On Code Enforcement
HACE members are dedicated professionals who share the common goals of preventing neighborhood deterioration, promoting sanitation, enhancing safety and preserving property values through knowledge and application of housing, zoning and nuisance codes and standards. Our activities are designed to serve individuals who enforce property maintenance, zoning and nuisance codes and ordinances. Building code inspectors, police officers and support staff who also enforce or are involved in the enforcement of property maintentance and zoning codes are also invited and encouraged to join HACE in addition to any other professional organizations in which they hold membership.

State & National Affiliation
HACE is a local chapter of the Missouri Association of Code Enforcement (MACE). MACE is a chapter of the International Code Council (ICC) and is an affiliate of the American Association of Code Enforcement (AACE). The ICC is the largest building and safety code organization dedicated to protecting the property, health and safety of people worldwide. AACE is the nation's premier organization dedicated solely to promote the profession of Code Enforcement. Your membership in HACE includes membership in MACE, offering not only solid educational and networking opportunitites, but an outstanding value as well.

Training, Education And Networking
The training and education offered by HACE brings the most current, accurate and pertinent information to our members. Join HACE now and you will have the opportunity to establish contacts with fellow Code Enforcement professionals from across the Kansas City metropolitan area and from across the state and country through our state and national affiliations. These contacts will provide additional networking and informational sources, enabling you to share ideas, information and solutions with fellow Code Enforcement personnel. HACE holds free monthly meetings and frequent seminars, enabling members to have contact with the association and with fellow code enforcement professionals on a regular basis.

National Certification Programs
Professional certification is a true mark of achievement. The certification programs offered by ICC and by AACE provide nationally recognized credentials by which individuals can demonstrate their knowledge of various regulatory codes, standards and practices pertaining to housing and zoning code enforcement and code administration. Certification verifies to governmental jurisdictions that the technical knowledge underlying the practice of housing and zoning code enforcement and/or administration has been mastered at a competent level as determined by national experts. Many of the training seminars offered by HACE are done in conjunction with MACE, thus providing valuable continuing education units (CEU's), which are required for the renewal of ICC and/or AACE certifications.
