Infestation Seminar Set For January 30
Insect and rodent infestations are among the many challenges facing Code Enforcement Officers. Bed bugs, roaches, spiders, ants, termites, fleas and mice are among the creatures that can and do infest single family, multi-family and commercial structures.
A seminar entitled
"What's Bugging You: Common Infetations and Solutions" will help you learn more about infestations and how to successfully deal with them. The class
is slated for January 30, 2013 at the Maryland Heights Government Center, centrally located in the St. Louis area at 11911 Dorsett Road in Maryland
Heights. This seminar will help you learn how to look for and identify different types of infestations and the most effective methods for eliminating
them. Learn how factors such as 2011's mild winter and 2012's summer drought affect insect populations and the likelihood of them entering a structure.
The presentation will also deal with potential risks to Code Enforcement personnel as we venture inside structures where infestations exist. The seminar
includes a Powerpoint presentation and extensive interaction between the instructor and participants, which questions and answers being provided throughout
the seminar.
The instructor for the
January 30 class is Jeff Ferguson (left), an inspector and sales professional from Amco Ranger Termite and Pest Solutions, a family-owned company in
business in the St. Louis area for 47 years. Ferguson is experienced in identifying infestation issues in structures, developing strategies to eliminate
these issues, and implement and oversee pest control solutions. He is experienced in insect, rodent and wildlife control in residential, commercial
and industrial facilities.
The seminar is jointly sponsored by the Missouri Association of Code Enforcement (MACE) and the St. Louis Association of Code Enforcement (SLACE). Registration
begins at 8:00 a.m. and the seminar runs from 8:30 a.m. to Noon. Attendees will receive .35 Continuing Education Units. The cost is only $15 and coffee
and donuts are included.
